Date with a ditz

Saturday Daddy needed to make firewood....  So, I decided to take the boys on a "date with Mommy" day.  Yikes!  I DO NOT know what my problem was, but thank goodness Granny decided to come along at the last minute.  I was in a fog, everything was a blur all day long....Why?

I had printed instructions to Wild Air.  A place for kids to play on a blow up playground.  WELL, I left the instructions in my work bag...because of course I printed them off at work (that's where I do most of my internet errands).  I thought I could figure out where to go, but after driving around Appleton trying to make sense of the fog in my head (streets were floating everywhere in my brain!), I decided to call Auntie Kara.  She informed me I was WAY OFF :)!, but there was a place similar that was close called Monkey Joe's.  We arrived there safely...WHEW!!!!

We play for about 2 1/4 hours.  Shawn had a blast.  Mason was scared (petrified) of everything except the basketball arcade game, a little train table and a stationary car.

We left to go out to eat.  Shawn wanted McDonald's.  Granny and I said, "No, we are trying to diet".  Shawn says, "Well, I don't know a thing about diets!  So you'll pick somewhere else I guess...".   LOL!!!!  We picked Chili's...I drove right by it without even braking!  We picked TGIF...there as a 1/2 hr wait so we left because Mason was too hungry to wait.  We picked Machine Shed....  the route I took there you couldn't make a left turn to get into the parking lot.  Traffic was very VERY congested!  So we decided to just move on and go to Culver's, something fast for Mason who is now whimpering in hunger (not kidding, not exaggerating).  UGH!  Traffic to Culver's was bumper to bumper, we make a quick lane change to get on the hwy...we know IHOP is just off the next exit.  Thankfully we arrive at IHOP safe and sound...it wasn't too busy there and the food was good!  Mason sat there drinking his chocolate milk saying, "Yum! Yummmmm!"  Six restaurants later we got it right.

Next we meet Auntie Kayla at Sam's club.   She only needed a few things, and Uncle Terry had requested one item.  We walked in the front door where you show your membership card...I can't find mine anywhere!  We ended up going to the service desk to get a new one.  Thankful that Granny is waiting in the van with the kids!  We get Kayla's stuff and I walk away aimlessly.  Kayla asks me..."So what does Kara need?"  I start wondering what she means?  Is she shopping for Kara's birthday?  I answer, "I'm not sure, you'll have to ask."  What a ditz!!!!  She means what did Terry want me to get!  Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think its time to head home!  At the rate I'm going we will be lucky to GET home!  I usually pride myself on having it all together...NOT TODAY! :)

Maybe you just can't handle having weekends off?! Thanks for the laugh - and it's good knowing that others have these kind of days, too.
