Aunt Janna cut grandpa's hairs, Granny cut his nails, and Grandma and Shawn went to make cookies and cherry cheesecake with the other residents. Shawn is wonderful with the elderly! He was never ready to leave when it was time..."I want to stay a little longer...". Cute! So many younger kids are fearful of the elderly, so it warms my heart to see his love for them in their fragile state.
Grandpa was snooping in the "healthy" (dark) chocolates that we brought grandma. He was like a kid in the candy jar with chocolate stains in the corner of his mouth! With the new medications his mentation is much clearer. He was reminiscing with Granny and Aunt Janna while Grandma and Shawn baked.
When it was time to leave (their lunch time) Shawn helped Aunt Janna put the foot pedals on the wheelchair and he VERY VERY carefully pushed Grandpa into the dining room. Sweet!
That night Laura had a basketball game, but Evan and Isacc stayed home with us to make carrot cake and play.
Mason's version of carrot cake...Messy Mason...

I love to see kids interact with the elderly and Shawn is definitely a natural...so sweet and sincere. What beautiful memories.
